HP C5280 - Solution Center won't reinstall
I setup and installed it yesterday, everything went smooth, the printer works. However, I notice a desktop shortcut for HP Supply, I say to myself 'I don't need this', uninstall it (only HP supply, I double checked) and only after that I notice the 'smart' Windows have uninstalled the entire HP software bundle!
Ok, no problem, I clean the remaining files and registry entries, hoping for a complete reinstall and here comes trouble: the 'smart' HP installer tells me I have everything already installed (cannot change that, checkboxes are greyed out) even though there is nothing installed!! I used the software&drivers from the enclosed CD, also used the version I got of HP online, nothing - HP installer still refuses to install, so now I can't use the printer.  Would appreciate any tips before I reinstall the winXp. cheers, Al |
