[SOLVED] brother printer mfc210

Hi, could some one please help me, my brother mfc210 has error message "unable to print" I'm using xp with sp2 I have followed all instuction in users guide, I have turned off the printer, checked that nothing is jamed in paper tray, it was saying that my ink was empty but it wasn't .......I'm lost....help..... wally poo

Hi wally poo here again.......I have fixed my problem........... after weeks of hasseling with it... and after I un & re installed the programe I ran a soft ware update which was on the brother disc & bingo .......I'm printing again...so simple why wasn't this mention in the user guide....this was my first time in any forum so I'm quite pleased with myself......but I'll be back as I'm sure there'll be other problems down the track...thanks anyway

thanks tosh9i for your reply........I'd reinstalled the driver a few times over the last few weeks I think it was the up date of the soft ware that did it

HI guys, you'll never guess...yes I'm having the same prob with my printer brother mfc210, it has worked for two weeks & now I'm back to square one.....what do I do now, as I need to print off some stuff urgently...waiting for help ....wally poo

Are there any lights on the printer that tell you what the problem is (low on ink, drum unit is used up, etc)

yes it says..unable to print ...see troulbeshooting & routine maitanence chapter in users guide .........thats all...

All I can say is just "do what I say." You did mention you were in a hurry.

Error code 41: defective printhead. Needs relpacement but spare part as costly as a new mfc!

I have a Brother 5250 laser printer B/W and it works great. It's fast and the toner prints about 7000 pages and costs around $35-$40. The drum unit prints about 20,000 pages before it needs to be replaced and costs around $80.
