Cannot install Lexmark Z1480
Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help with a problem I'm having trying to install a Lexmark Z1480 printer.
The setup goes through until the end of the setup when I get the message "An error occurred during the install of the device. The process cannot access the file because it is being use by another process". This has got me baffled somewhat as I have no idea what the file is and what process is using it. Any ideas anybody? The laptop is an IPC, spec not known, running XP Service Pack 2. |

Re: Cannot install Lexmark Z1480
Hi ashover and welcome to TSF
![]() Try removing ALL peripheral cords from your computer. Then goto: Start Run Type in MSconfig and click Ok Clcik on Selective Startup bubble and untick Load Startup Items. Then go to the Services Tab and tick Hide all Microsoft Services. Then click Disable All and click Apply and Close. Then restart your computer with JUST the PRINTER CABLE in and no more then that. Make sure that your internet wire is disconnected. Then try to install it from the disk once again. |
