hp psc 2210xi all in one printer-not printing

the printer is not printing clearly and as precise as it has in the past , is it possible to clean the machine through the software or is it need of personal attention at a local tech shop. can I do the cleaning with alcohol and swabs. Is it possible that by using aftermarket ink cartridges from the local refill station the problem. By purchasing new cartridges, will this help solve the printing problem. thanks for any info.

Hi joeroysan and welcome to TSF

Try reinstalling the driver and see what that does for your self. Try reseating the printer cartridges and try using known good ones from the MANUFACTURER of the machine. Also try cleaning the printer nozzles with a cloth to get rid of dust.

I have had a similar problem. Installed a new ink cartridge and it wouldn't print. Kept trying to make sure it was seated, etc. Finally, quite completely. I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times. Didn't know which driver to choose!! None sounded close in the HP section to the HP all in one 2410xi. I Even downloaded from HP site to see if that software and driver was the right one. Right now, I am completely without a printer. Download say complete, but shows no printer installed in the Control Panel. Any suggestions/help is certainly appreciated here.. as I am totally out of options.

Thank you, joeroysan for the reply. I have taken all the steps you said, except to reinstall the driver. When the list comes up to select, I have now idea which one? None look like they would be logical? It is a hp psc2410xi photosmart all-in-one printer.
