computer and printer not communicating
Hi, I have a lexmark 1185 printer that I was using with my old computer. I hooked it up to my new dell laptop and they will not communicate with each other. I have updated the drivers. The printer will print a test page but will not print anything else. It sends it to the printer queque but no further I get a message telling me that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. I have checked cables, unplugged and plugged power cord and no use. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: computer and printer not communicating
Try shutting down the firewall. This worked for me and I am now looking for the specific exceptions need to allow the printer to work.
PS For some reason the printer wants to connect to the internet, dont know why. |
