Epson Stylus Photo 1270 Won't Power Up
Everyone,
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1270 that has worked beautifully for years. Recently it was printing, ran out of paper, so when I put in a new sheet, it tried, but could not grab the new sheet of paper from the input tray. When I tried to power off and back on the printer, all the lights (Orange [black ink, color ink, and paper] and Green [power]) blink in unison. At no time do I hear any mechanical start-up sounds that normally accompany printer start-up. Epson support has suggested unplugging the parallel and power cables, then hooking it all up again. I've done this, but with no success. Epson support has told me that the printer has some sort of an internal error that can't apparently be resolved and so the printer must be discarded. I find this hard to believe. Does anyone know of any switches that can be inspected or wheels that can be turned to clear out any paper pieces or any way to fully reset an Epson 1270 printer? Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Mark |
