spooler open

i've been trying to reinstall my printer it keeps tell me spooler open so what do i need to do it won't let reinstall:

i have a lemark x1240 was working fine till the other day now it doesn't show up at all

Lexmark, for whatever reason, has made the Print Spooler dependent on the Remote Procedure Call service (RPCSS). You will need to kill this dependency to stop the spooler. Once you stop the spooler, the uninstallation should work.
Go to Start, mouse over to Run, type cmd <enter>, then type in the following command:

Code:

sc config spooler depend= RPCSS

Notice the space is AFTER the equivalency sign, NOT before.

You should get the confirmation:

[SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS

Now type:

Code:

net stop spooler

You should get the confirmation:

The spooler process is stopping.
The spooler process was stopped successfully.
