Problem Installing Hardware
I'm trying to install a new printer. An HP Deskjet F300 All-In-One Series. The installation process fails when i am asked to connect the USB cable to the printer and to a USB port on my computer. The error message i'm getting states,
"There was a problem installing this hardware - Deskjet F300 (USBPRINT) An error occurred during installation of the device. The required section was not found in the INF" I have no idea what the last part means. Also the printer is not showing up under installed printers and faxes in my control panel on my computer. Anyone with any information on how i might correct this problem, please let me know. I don't want to have to return a brand new printer, if the problem can be fixed. Thanks! |

Re: Problem Installing Hardware
Unplugged the USB cable from the printer/scanner/copier device and from the USB port on the computer, plugged it into 3 different USB ports on the computer and it still will not print any documents. However, the scanner device will work, i've scanned a document on the scanner and it was transferred onto my computer using the software program, and allowed me to preview the document on the computer. Although it keeps telling me that the device is not connected. So i don't understand how it's possible to transfer a document that was scanned, onto the computer, but not print documents from the computer. I also did go into the control panel and manually check the hardware, where it states that it has been installed and all devices are working properly, except for the one i received the error message about. The Deskjet F300 Series (USBPRINT). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
