Sharing a PTouch label editor
Hello,
I have a PTouchPC label editor on a win2000 machine. It connects via serial port. Is it possible to share this printer so that others can print to it. Ive tryed the whole add a network printer thing and i see the printer but for some reason it wont let me print to it |

first let me note this is NOT a solution but a possible way to accomplish this.
When I had my Ptouch also serial based, it installed a virtual print driver. The question is if that print driver allows sharing??? If it does, you may be able to fool your other operating system into printing to it but that also requires the client has to have the print drivers installed which may be tricky depending on the software that comes with it... If there are some inf drivers in the package, it could be possible. note this will be basic support and more than likely not a full suite solution. Not sure if the software itself has a port selector because if it was changeable to a server location, that may give you full access but I doubt it. Take it Easy.
