Communication problems psc 1315
Hi Folks,
maybe someone else encountered this problem I have and I hope a solution too. My hp psc 1315 all in one works fine for months. No problems with scanning, printing, copying ... Recent days, when I was trying to start the scan-function via the hp-director a message appeared at my Windows Screen, which comes like that: "Communcation error while contacting the scanner device. Please ensure that the scanner is properly connected, try again." It is connceted to my computer (WinXP) via USB. So I did check the cables, everything was fine. I havenīt changed anything for months - "never change a running system"! The curious thing is I am able to print from numerous programs and it is copying perfectly. So it seems to me there is hardly a connecting problem, maybe a software or network problem. Thanks for your help. chrismansos |

I finally solved the problem with the link you posted. It was a failure in regestry data. It was very helpful to detect the failure with the "scan diagnostic utility" from hp, which can be found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...dlc=en&lang=en A hint for all, who donīt want to tinker with the regestry: 1. disconnect your device (USB) 2. uninstall the driver 3. put on your device (power on) 4. reconnect device (USB) --> Plug&Play installs the driver --> everything is fine (this procedure works at least with WinXP) Chrismansos |
