Sometimes the refills do not work correctly. You can purchase another black cartridge and that should get you printing again.

Re: black ink will not work

points about refills

cartridges with head included
if ink dries up before you refill, then you're wasting your time .. highly unlikely it will work again .. replace teh cartridge with agenuine product and you have a high chance of working again

cartridges where the head is part of the printer ..
if the ink dries up it's cheaper to get a new printer than repair the head, there are some unclogging agents but they don't guarantee a clean up

I changed from HP with replaceable head & cartridge to Epson with replaceable cartridge (no Head) .. the HP I had working for 10 years .. the Epson was replaced with another HP after 2 years .. due to clogged heads

Re: black ink will not work

I would try with a normal black ink cartridge, always keep one handy. Then you know what's faulting.

Re: black ink will not work

Hi Floridagirl, as you can see many folks have this problem but in my experience you have to know if possible why it is not printing before you start. My Epson printer would not print just the black text , it took me about three weeks before I sorted it, meanwhile I used a complete set of cartridges trying to clear it. Then I decided to think for a change, it printed either the top half of a line of text or the bottom half, so perhaps it was not fully clogged,or perhaps it was just ink starved, or both.
I took out the offending cartridge, turned it upside down and with a syringe put a small ammount of ink cleaner into the ink outlet, then quickly slapped it back in place and left it over night, on starting the printer did it's usual head clean and when I tried it the print was perfect, so there's another option and it can save you a lot of ink
. New original maufacturers carts but more likely compatibles may not breath enough to begin with to allow the ink to flow , and may even need the breather channel checking, ( I push a very fine sewing needle through the label straight into the breather hole on top of the cartridge if that's the problem ) but a cartridge that has been in use often responds to a litttle priming as mentioned, be warned it can be a messy job ! westmoors.
