Trouble printing Labels on Brother HL5140

I am trying to print mailing labels on a new Brother HL5140 printer. The labels were created from an Excel spreadsheet into Word through mail merge. The trouble I am having is that the printer immediately goes to manual feed when I click the print icon. Is there a printer setting that controls this or is there something in word that is causing this problem?

Word lets you select tray options printing labels from the Options menu under labels. Most printers default to printing labels from the manual feed tray because feeding labels from other trays often causes jams and misfeeds.

On the subject of printing labels I would have to admit that I never really had much luck with my label printer. I spent all my time messing around with the printer and it still never printed any decent looking labels. In the end I decided to give up on the whole DIY approach and I found a british labels company to do my label printing for me, they saved me so much hassle.
