HP photosmart 7960 Network
URG...
I've done a few things to my computer sand obvisouly somewhere along the way messed up my printer. I'm having problems on the network computer printing. First, i used PC Mover to move files to my main computer to the networked one as at one point it sounded like my main computer was going to crap out, which it didn't - thank God! Second, i removed Norton and reinstalled another firewall and security system. I can check the network connections and i have clicked repair and it says there is nothing to repair and it is connecting. When i view printer and faxes in the control panel it says that the printer is unable to connect. When i right click on the printer in this box, and then click properties i get an error message "Printer properties cannot be displayed. The printer spooler service is not running." I can print off my main computer. My guess is that when i did the PC Mover thingy that something was overridden. I had the computers networked by someone else and if you can give me some directions, please talk slow.... All of this comes right before i need to get payroll reports and all done for 2006... Help! thanks. |

Have you made sure the printer is shared, go to printers and fax, right click on the printer and select share...allow and see if that helps.

Shared Printer
Yes it is saying it is shared. I've tried renaming it to share it.
I've been working on this since 8:00 a.m. and very frustrated. I don't know what else to do. I just don't understand how it can work fine one day and then not the next. thanks. |

Then depending on the firewall (not my expertese) you will have to allow the port to be open to have the printer seen on the network
