epson C86 problem

My Epson Stylus C86 is connected correctly, green print light is on, no red lights on, ink cartridges all registering ink, but when I want to print, nothing but a very vague gray image is printed on my paper. I've done the printing check, cleaned the heads, etc., but still nothing. HELP??

Hello and welcome to the forum. Did you install the driver for the printer, is the printer in draft mode. What results do you get when you print a test page, does it look normal...all colors good, print heads aligned. Are you using Epson ink or some other brand....Epson printers do not like (in my experience) anything but epson cartridges.

I have had this printer for 2 years and have not changed any of the settings, etc. Also, I always use Epson ink cartridges. When I print a test page, NOTHING comes out...no lines, nothing on the page. Same when I try to print anything else.

Sounds like your print heads dried up and are now clogged, its a common problem with epson printers, that is usually allieviated by printing at least 1 color document a week. You can check here for cleaning fluid, just be sure to follow the directions carefully and don't remove the cartridges until you are ready to clean the heads. fixyourownprinter.com/kits/Epson/K89
