Toshiba E-Studio160 and D Link 2.4ghz wireless print server
Ok here goes....
1) Small office hires me to "install" new laptops, and add them to network enviroment. 2) Everything went without comment until.... They are using a large multifunction Toshiba E-Studio 160 (http://www.eid.toshiba.com/products/...tudio160.shtml) and are sending print documents to is wirelessly via A DLINK 2.4ghz print server, (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=38). So, following the way this system was originally installed I do the following, A) Under Printers and Faxes in Windows XP "Add A printer" B) Select "Local Printer" C) Select create new port D) Port Settings Are: 192.168.2.199 E)Confirm all that and contine on, and select the printer and it installs the new driver, I then go into the control panel of the printer under properties, and "Configure Port" and change from RAW to LPR and name the print que "lp1" then i hit apply and OK, at which point I try to print a test page, which does not work, and the one time it did, it printer the standard "garbage":80912pofiefwejf-0p932fj-93fjpf9j2 all of that ^^^ jazz... So does anyone have any ideas? THANKS,
