HP C3180 scanner installation problem

I have been trying to install a HP C3180 all in one printer on my computer.
The printing and copying functions work fine but the scanner refuses to install. I have windows ME. I spoke with HP tech support and went through an uninstall/reinstall with them. HP said the problem was with msxml and that I should talk to my computer person. I don't have a computer person.
Any help would be apprecated. Thanks.

If the problem is with msxml then I suggest you goto www.windowsupdate.com and download the lastest versions of .Net and all security updates for it.
