Epson Cx5400

Hey Fellaz,
I've a small problem with my printer, it's an all-in-one. And I love this printer. Although I've got a small problem, something happened to the scanner for some reason. It still prints and everything, but when it comes time to scan it or copy something it makes noises as if it's moving around, and the scanner also lights up, but then the message centre gives me a msg: " Error, Scanner Error -----> See your documentation and call service if neccessary."

I've changed the driver and everything but the problem persists. What do I do?

I was thinking of changing it, but they've got the RX6200 I think as it's replacement, I liked it too but I don't like the idea of a 6 cartridge system, since it won't be as economical as this, what do I do? What do I do?...

Thnx.

It sounds very much like the scanner has died (assuming the text of your error message is correct). If it's still under warranty then return it for repair. If not, time to get a new one.

My System

The 6 cartridge system is very good....you only have to replace the cartridge that is empty and they tend to be only $12 or so each, with the black a but more....similar system on my R200 and I find it qiute economical to run and print photo's with...just make sure to print a color doc at least once a week to keep the nozzles from clogging....its an issue with most Epson printers.

The Cx5400 is among the five highest failure printers of all time for the Epson company, and parts are not available, except in England... Generally when the symptoms you describe occur, you need to find the nearest environmentally safe disposal unit.
