cannon multipass c5500 printer

my cannon multipass c5500 is not set up for windows xp. The computer is not communicating with the printer.

Check the connection between the printer and the computer. Does the printer blink its lights or indicate an error?

Did you install the drivers for the printer with the installation CD that came with it?
