Print spooler issues.....

I an running Windows XP on a Dell Computer. I have an HP Office Jet v40 fax, scanner, printer, copier. All of a sudden a few weeks ago its 'gone' !!!! It's not in control panel/printers and faxes. And I cannot get it to re-install with the CD. I am getting a message about the print spooler? I went into admin tools and services and tried to 'start' it. Well, I keep getting an error! "Could not start the print spooler srevice on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied". Whats going on? Can someone please HELP????

You can try flushing the contests of the folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

If it doesnt help do a repair installation of your OS. this would be a great guide to you. Print it out and follow the instructions.
