E-ZI Phonebox: USB Audio device doesn't install
Hi
My first post in a forum, hope that I don't do anything wrong. I bought an E-ZI Phonebox (by Waitec: www.waitec.com) to allow me to use my normal phone with Skype. Following the installation instructions upon connecting the phonebox Windows (XP) automatically installed 3 or 4 USB devices that it found in the Phonebox. However when I try to use my phone (using Skypelink from Waitec) I can call but the sound comes out my pc speakers (and no-one can hear me). Under devices I have found that there is a USB Audio device that is listed as not working (error message: This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)). Windows suggests that I reinstall the driver but the manual says that no drivers are required for this device. I asked Waitec but no reply. Sorry if I was too verbose Thanks for reading this cheers Bryan |

Hi
Just in case anyone else has this problem I managed to solve the problem Trawling the web I discovered that this box is cloned and sold by many other names: telbox, rapidbox etc. and I finally found the solution in German! (see http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/showthread.php?t=70478) Basically it seems that the box needs the device driver wdma_usb.inf to exist (on my machine in this case in windows\inf). I just copied the existing usb.inf to wdma_usb.inf and it works perfectly. thanks to everyone whose input helped cheers Bryan |
