Hi,

Looks like a real nice rig for the most part. Should really kick for you. The only thing I would have done differently is that my preference would have been either an Enermax, Seasonic, or PC Power and Cooling power supply of about the same wattage you have listed. I have never been impressed with the Thermaltake power supplies, although they make great products with some of the other things they offer. Not saying it won't do the job for you, but it would not have been my preference. That is my two cents worth.

Hi,

I have not had what you call "BAD" experinences, but let's say their performance is not nearly as strong IMHO as the ones I mentioned over a long period of time.

There are three classes of power supply rated as High, Medium, and Low. The rating is taken from strength of individual rails, overall output strength, output that equals what is advertised, an even flow of current at all times with minimal variation of voltage, a quiet factor, cool operation, and durability. If you check most of the comparison charts where head to head testing has been done, you will find the Thermaltake products are rated in the Medium Category.

My experience has shown that while they are decent quality and are not what one would call low quality, they do not match up to the real high quality power supplies in most instances. When I build a computer either for myself or for a customer, I don't choose Thermaltake power supplies although I do like many of their products.

If building a real powerhouse computer like you are, I would not opt for something that is judged (in my opinion and also from expert testing) as a medium quality supply, but would want something that the experts have deemed is high in quality. That is the reason I would not have chosen the thermaltake. The power supply is the MOST important component of your computer, like the heart beat of your body.

Just remember, this is my opinion from my experience with Thermaltake, so hopefully someone else will chime in and provide you their opinion also. You asked for a personal opinion and that is why I stated what I did from my experience and also from my research.

If you feel this power supply is the one that will best serve your needs, then that is what you need to buy. We are at a real disadvantage when you buy/order, then ask what we think, because it then appears that we are assailing your choice which we are not. Some drive Chevy's some drive a Ford, and they will never agree which is best when a personal opinion is used to judge which it is. This is my personal opinion.

I do hope it does the job for you and you have a wonderful experience building your computer.
