Machine will not boot
My computer stopped booting correctly. When switching on the Windows XP advanced boot menu displayed. This has various options such as start in Safe Mode, Last Known Good Config, Start Normally etc. No matter which option I selected a blue screen displayed with a stop code.
I change the HDD with a disk which works no problem in other computers, however in this problem machine the same Advanced Boot menu was displayed and after selecting an option the Blue Stop screen is displayed. I then thought that the problem must be associated with the Motherboard. So I have bought a new board and attached the HDD (not the original, the one that works in other machines) the original RAM and the original processor, and guess what…the same Advanced Boot menu then the Blue Stop code. So to summarise, my computer stopped booting and started to display a blue stop code after selecting any option from the Advanced Boot menu. I have replaced the HDD and motherboard and the same problem occurs. The only original items are the processor and the RAM |

Hi,
To get more help, you need to post what the components of your computer are including motherboard, CPU, video card, power supply watts and brand name, hard drive, and other components that might help us to know what you are dealing with. If it were mine, i would clear the cmos and then see what happens when you do that and if you get no results, then follow this: Start with just motherboard, ATX plug, Square 12 volt molex plug (almost rectangular) plugged into motherboard, CPU and Heatsink with the heatsink fan connected to the motherboard. Use only one stick of memory (check your manual for the proper slot), the video card, keyboard and mouse, the off/on switch wires and nothing else. DO NO PUT IN ANY DRIVES, PCI CARDS, OR OTHER EXTRA ITEMS OR WIRES. Try to Boot it up and see what happens. Tell us exactly what happens or if it boots or beeps or what turns on or what does not turn on. Post back with details plus the specs information that forcifer and I both requested.
