Unable to find the update

Hi, i have recently got a new preview clip of movie and i am not able to play it. It says i need to have a new update (real one player)
but its not aviable. It needed that to play some portions of the movie clip. I tried other programs like windows media (error problem) and quick time (Need 3rd party software). The movie is a avi type.
should i try and change the file type or somthing?

GSpot will tell you which codec you need to play the video file. Drag and drop the video into the GSpot window and it will tell you if the file is corrupt or which version of the codec is required.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The software even told me where to get the codes =). Im so happy now i can now watch it =)!!!
