Okay so last night randomly out of nowhere my display started getting distorted on the sides, I opened a browser and the screen wen't black, I turned the monitor off and then on again and the display was restored (still very torn-up). Another interesting thing about this is at the same time the screen tearing started, my monitor started making this hissing/crackling noise that since then hasn't stopped. If I lower the resolution and refresh rate to bare minimum the tearing often goes away, however the crackling noise does not. I am positive it's not my video adapter because I have already tried the monitor on two different video cards. I also have not forced the monitor to go into modes it doesn't support.
It's a KDSusa 19in xtreme-flat monitor, I called their tech support and the guy I talked to was totally useless, gonna call them back tommorrow and see if I can get someone better, but if I can fix this myself I'd really love to know what you guys think could have caused this and is it fixable? |
