Obtaining RAM Speeds and useful programs

Hello all, just a quick question here.

Can anybody suggest any free products for providing information about your installed ram such as the pc speed etc. Also what would you suggest for RAM-cleaning/free'ing products.

I only ask as there are hundreds to choose from.

Thanks

My System

Everest Free Edition for system information and memdefrag to free/clean memory. I've just used memdefrag on my 512meg system which is running a few programs. Before running, it had 228mb free, now it has 330mb. It only takes a few seconds.

Another one (which I haven't tried yet) that is highly recommended is FreeRAM XP Pro

You can scan your computer at http://www.crucial.com/ that will tell you exactly what type/speed of RAM you need.

My System

Lavalys have stopped providing support for the Home Edition, but the Free Edition is still available and works.

@ Greg38H
'Sandra' from my sig is another good system reader.
CPU-Z is a good, fast one for just CPU and memory.
