Confused tv, vid capture card issues.

i got a k*world "v-stream dv/av expert tv stereo" video capture card so that i could watch tv, and play my ps & dc (see the side board for the rest of my computer's specs). it came w/ power vcr 2 v3. it worked alright for a couple of months, but would every now and again get a ms error saying it has performed some illigal operation, asking to let ms know, or just close it. but the funny thing is that if i just moved the diag box aside, the app seemed to still work just fine! then i blew away win xp some how and did a clean install. now its popping up even before the app fully loads, every time. i've tryed updateing the drivers and powervcr, but to no availe. i have nero sw that has some video capture ability, but i get no sound, which is no good for the tv part ( i got the sound part of the ps & dc going to the stereo), and it crashes sometimes too. so i have this $60 card in my computer that i can't use! but w/the clean install, i went to a sata drive for the os (but left the ide for extra space), upped the ram to 1gig from 512mb, and got the latest nvidia drivers so i could play bf2. any ideas of what it can do? thx.

underpower can cause a lot of unexplained problems and you are running a lot on your current power supply,so it is worth checking if just to eliminate it as the problem

well for the most part, the sw seems to mostly work as it should. and as far as installing only parts, its drivers and one app- power vcr. the heading of the error has this:
Quote:
Exception Information
Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000
Record: 0x0000000000000000 Address: 0x0000000066863240
but i can't copy paste, or i would. it wants to include this file titled 7496_appcompat.txt.
