computer only letting me use 512 ram
ok i have k8n-e deluxe and i had bought 1 gig of ram when i got the board, 1 stick went out on me, well randomly rebooted me, so i took that one out, went random reboot free for months, but now i want a ram upgrade, from 512 to 1.5 gigs of ram. so i bought a gig of ram.
its only showing 512 ram no matter what i do, my old stick was valueslect corsair ram, ddr-dimms 184 pin pc3200. i bought 2 of the same sticks. i have 3 ram slots, A, B, and C, for reference. my old 512 was in the middle one, B. i first put my new 2 512 sticks in with my old 512. it only showed 512 ram on dxdiag and my computer properties + mem count on boot. so i took out all 3 sticks and put 1 new stick in C. same thing, then tried A, with other new stick, same thing, so all three sockets worked with all 3 sticks.....!!?!?!?! but its only showing 512 MB ram no matter what combination of stuff i do, so this led me to believe i had to change something in bios but i couldnt find anything. |

There is a jumper by the battery on the motherboard that you would switch positions for approxamately 5 min. Or simpler way is to remove the CMOS battery for about 5 min.
