bad lag issues
Any new game that has been coming out has been running like crap, lots of sidescrolling ,skip ,stutter and 2 or 3 second freeze lag. games such as AOE3, CIV4, F.E.A.R and The Movies have all been running bad. In fact my older games have never run that great either. Now in the past year i have upgraded my video card my mobo my hard drives sound card, power supply and my cpu. before i upgraded i had pretty bad lag in games too. the only thing i havent upgraded is my RAM the pc3200 corsair value select (1gig).
I am starting to think Gigabyte boards hate this RAM. i am not totally sure if thats the issue though, and if i should rush out and buy another gig of somthing else. Games run just as bad on my SATA drive as they do on my IDE drive. oh and i am 100% sure i have no gremlins/spyware on either drive. I have tried messing with all my bios settings and windows settings such as hardware acceleration resolution disabling sevices ect ect. i have tried so many things i cant even list them all. and all drivers and bios is up to date. GA-K8NS ULTRA-939 AMD64 3200+ VENICE CORE MSI GEFORCE 6600GT CORSAIR VALUE SELECT PC3200 1 GIG SAMSUNG SP2004 200GIG SATA SAMSUNG SP 120GIG IDE SOUNDBLASTER AUDIGY 4 SAMSUNG DVD BURNER COMBO DRIVE ASPIRE 500W PSU |

That looks to be a solid system, but the RAM/MoBo combination may be it. Try forcing the RAM to 333Mhz (through the BIOS). The speed difference is minimal, and it may run better. At the least, it may save you from having to spend more $$$.
If you do want to spend some cash, try changing to the MSI NEO4 motherboard (I'm not a Gigabyte fan, but I have built a ton of AMD systems using MSI boards and they have all performed well) |

i actually have 4 sticks of it and when i put all 4 in it runs at 333 but that doesnt help none either. somone said i might have a bad psu. my bios doesnt tell me what my voltages are for some stupid reason. i downloaded mbm5 and sure enough all 3 voltages were not only low but moving so was the vcore voltage. the 3.3 was 3.10 the 5.v was moving from 3.28. 3.84 and the 12v was 11.71.
but i dont even know if i can trust those readings i might have to try it with a multimeter. i can either afford new ram or a new psu but not both. i might buy a psu in a store try it if that dont solve my problem return it and buy ram online. i ran memtest and didnt get any errors at all after 800% . not sure if that means anything though . i didnt even know psu could cause lag without causing reboots lockups and errors. still not exactly convinced that they can |
