Interesting Request about Fans & Computer Cases
So, I have a question. What would it take, bare minimum, and i DO mean bare minimum, to have a case with fans spinning
Bear in mind that i don't CARE what components I have in this case, i just want something that can keep whatever fans I have spinning at 100%... I don't even think you guys want to know why I want this. :-D |

well, with the old at/xt cases, all you would need would be a case with a power supply in it.
then you could just turn it on, and the fans could run off the power leads. the newer atx cases, and power supplies, require a signal, you can find this by doing a google search for "atx pinouts" (if it's typical, grounding pin 14, green should light it up) so either way, you just need a case, and a power supply. but with the atx, it's a little more difficult to make it start up.

Are you using your case as a beer cooler? Or a wind tunnel for testing model aeroplanes? Please, you have to tell us!

Koala raises a good point!
You can also obtain a small switchable ATX power tester. That's how I've seen it done at stores that have fans on display.
