Can't open case.

Just bought a new video card and I'm having trouble opening the case. My other computer just has a button to push and open, but this one is rediculous. I've tried to remove the only 4 screws that there are, but it turns out that it only connects the fan and I accidentally DROPPED THE FAN inside the computer.. I don't think it's broke or anything it just needs to be rescrewed. My friend and I can't do it, so I'm considering taking it to Fry's or Best Buy to have them help. I doubt complaing here will do anything, but my computer is a Sony Vaio PCV-1132. Thanks for any help.

You ll have to slide it through the case. take a close look at the front and back. should give you a hint. also look for spots where you can push down.

Ah, I remember those from when I worked at B*st Buy. You remove the top and then the side panel.

Dang, I almost got it, I tried pushing up the top with a flathead screwdriver and it's going up a bit; would it be ok to force it up? It's plastic and I don't want to break my baby any further. =(

What I've learned with computers...the least forceful method of opening a case is the one to use. When done right, it usually just slides apart. You just have to know how to push it and in what direction.

Thanks for the replies..

Ok well Best Buy is charging 40 bucks just to take a look at it so I'm kinda getting desperate and took a pic so you guys can understand a bit better.

Before I made this thread, I took out the 4 top screws and it turned out that it just made the top part (to be honest I have no idea what it is, but the power connects to it) loose; I thought it would fall off so I just screwed it back in. Does anyone think this is the way to remove the case? And the little tabs on the side are pretty useless, I pulled on them as hard as I could and got nothing off.

My computer looks something like this in the front:

And here is the back.

Right above the large grate should be two plastic tabs. Pushing those will allow the top "lid" to pop off and then the side panel can be removed.

Are you talking about that grate at the top? Cause I don't see any tabs on the top panel.

Strange... Anyway, don't remove ANY screws from the back unless they are actually going through the side panel. The tabs on the side that you say don't do anything ought to free the side panel. Push them in and pull the panel towards the back of the system. If the system is sitting with its back to you, then pull it towards yourself.
