I recently purchased a replacement power supply for my laptop on eBay. The new power supply is 19.5 Volts and the orginal one is 16 volts.
Can I still use the 19.5 Volt power supply or will the voltage difference fry it? Thanks for any suggestions. ![]() Last edited by Norman Kaui : 08-01-2005 at 02:29 AM. |

Are the current numbers the same. If it is about the same amps it should be ok. It may produce more heat though.
But it is not a good idea to use a power supply for a laptop it was not designed for. If this is your only choice, then try it.
