Grin Newbie Comp Building...help!!!

This is the system that i've researched and sort of decided upon the budget that I have and what I need it to do. Anyway, I'm a Gamer and a Designer..so I need a pretty alright system that will last me a good few years I hope.

here's the list:

AMD Athlon 64 3800 +

1G Geil Value Select Kit (512 x 2) PC3200 400 MHZ

ASUS A8N-SLi Deluxe ATX
Dual DDR400
2 x PCIe X16
2 x PCIe x 1
4 x SATA II
4 x SATA
RAID
Dual GBLAN
10 x USB2
Firewire
8 Channel audio

Leadtek Winfast PX6600GT Nvidia 6600GT Extreme
550MHZ GPU 560 MHZ RAM, DVI, HDTV, SLI, PCIE
or
XFX PV-T43G-UDFT Geforce 6600GT PCIe Dual DVI TVout

120 GB 3.5" Seagate Barracuda SATA 120 GB HD NCQ 8mb Cache
8.3ms Average seek time 7.2k RPM

Creative Audigy2 5.1 Surround

ANTEC TC1050B ATX Tower Case 500W Smartpower 2PSU

Is my power supply sufficient enough?
Do I have enough fans going or do i need to add more?
Do I need a soundcard? As the motherboard already has 8 channel audio.
Do you think there are any compatibility problems?
I'm planning to get a 19" LCD Monitor that has DVi and analogue
with 12ms response time, Refresh Rate 75 HZ. Is this good enough?

I really need a good system but on a budget and I also need to use the system for design work in video and web with 2 monitors.

Power supply looks good
I strongly suggest a water-cooling system, especially for gaming; also AMD's tend to run quite hot
You shouldn't have any compatibility issues.
As for the LCD monitor I don't know.

Good Luck and Enjoy Your New System!

Actually, you'll only need a water cooling solution if you plan to do some overclocking. Since you're going with AMD64 (excellent choice!) there's really no need to OC it.

The PSU is badass!

I personally do not like LCDs as they can't refresh as fast as a good CRT, cost too much, and have poor color accuracy.

I found a TX1050B case, and it looks like it could use more fans. Especially with modern chips.

There's no need to install that Audigy card unless you want to downgrade your available audio channels and have to deal with more hardware installation.

This doesn't mean that all Leadtek cards are bad, but I had one once, and it was very poorly built... Just a disclaimer :o)
Also where did you find an audigy to that has 5.1? Most good audigy cards made now are 7.1.
Get some info on the built in sound of your motherboard, and just general info on how it sounds. If its specs are decent, hold off on the sound card. Try out your onboard sound, and hopefully it will meet your needs. If you aren't satisfied, then its time to pick up a good pci card.
If you want to look at one of the 7.1 versions, here an Audigy2 ZS at newegg.com

I don't have time to check the board's specs at work, but if it's an nForce board then I can tell you that the sound is great. My board is an nForce 3 and my friends have nForce 2's and we all enjoy great onboard sound.

In that case d0nd0n, definately hold off on the sound card... it may or may not make a difference, but the money would be better spent elsewhere. Buy yourself some new shoes!
P.S. ebackhus, I wasn't saying you should do the research on the motherboard sound, you've got enough to do
P.P.S. d0nd0n, As the LCD monitor goes, if you get lucky with the monitor, it could look halfway decent running on DVI at its native resolution. I have a 17 inch ctx lcd running on dvi at 1280x1024, and the video has never bothered me at all. If you are very picky about your screen though, consider what was said about a crt.

Oh, that was just a general FYI, not direct at anyone. :)

The only thing I don't particularly like was that I couldn't load my own sound banks. I had an older Gateway machine that allowed me to load custom sound banks of 2, 4 or 8MB size. It was nice!

Yeah, it was an old 366C. Slow clunker but had good hardware capabilities. And that 95W PSU blew my mind!
