Processer or Ram ?

What will effect the speed of a computer more? The ram or the processer. I'm buying a HP laptop for photo and video editing ( just light stuff, family things ) also I'll have Microsoffice Pro on it. This will be hooked up to the internet with cable wirless. I wanted at least 2.0 processer and 512 ram, what do you think, Rick

Defenitely the CPU - but it also depends on what type of CPU. Clockspeed (the Mhz/ Ghz) alone is not an indicator of the true performance of a CPU.

Yeah. Intel has always worked on the gimmick of MHz/GHz = performance. AMD worked with architecture that ran at lower speeds but had equal or greater performance.
