Card guide..useless?

hey,i have a an Antec PLUSview 1000AMG and was wondering what this card guide actually does?I just use it to route some wires through

If you mean the card guide that's situated near the front of the case, that's to support VERY long expansion cards.

yes, mostly useless 99% of the time.

i haven't seen cards that long for ages.

I haven't seen cards like that since the 90's. They were GINORMOUS. Even my old ISA Extended video card wasn't that long.
