Yet another thing that’s been bothering me what’s faster a PCI card or an AGP card? I’ve

Noticed that the highest is 4/8x and I don’t know anything about PCI cards so how fast

PCI is the older connection method. AGP was brought out as a dedicated graphics port with better bandwidth between it and the processor.

The new one you will be hearing about is PCI-Express which is faster than AGP 8x (the fastest AGP, previous versions being 2x and 4x). This is not the same as normal PCI.

Any of today's graphics cards are fast enough that they need the bandwidth offered by the AGP port. PCI versions of them will be limited by the bandwidth of those ports and also having to share with other PCI devices (sound cards, ethernet cards, etc.).

If you are looking for a videocard, go for an AGP 8x or PCI-Express these days (as long as your motherboard supports it).
