Computer keeps freezing
I have 2 computers running on a small home network, the host computer is quite often switched on but not being used.
Lately I have been finding that the host computer will freeze at irregular intervals while I am using the client, sometimes the host computer will be left on for 12 hours while the client is downloading material from the internet and it will run just fine, other times I find that while I am using the internet on the client computer my internet usage will suddenly be cut off, when I go to the host computer I find that it has frozen, sometimes this will happen only 15-20 mins after switching the computer on and other times it will happen a couple of hours after switching it on and at other times it will not happen at all. Sometimes it even happens while the host computer is being used. |

First I'd recomment getting a router and eliminating the worry of losing connectivity. Second, I'd run some AV and spyware/adware checks on the host computer.

Check your router's firewall log for signs of DoS attacks. I've been suffering that on mine recently. Also turn off ping return in the router, if it has that option.
