bluetooth/BT-48 GPS/Ipaq-problem: no GPS found
Hi,
I'm breaking my head on this one for two days now... I bought an Ipaq/Alturion gps-set a few months ago. This worked like a dream! Until last week someone found it neccessary to break into my car and steal my bluetooth GPS-receiver (it was the only thing he took, why why why !!!). This week I bought myself a new GPS receiver : A sanav BT-48 (bluetooth) Now I can't install the damn thing...Here are my steps, i'll try to give as many details as possible: - Turn the GPS-receiver on and wait until the blue light fixes (implying that the GPS-signal is received well). - Bluetooth(PDA) : Turn on - In Bluetooth manager: tap "new" - "Explore a bluetooth device" - Double-tap on the icon "SANAV BTGPS_142.1" - Select "SPP" and tap next - Finish - Shortcut is now created - In the "bluetooth - My shortcuts" menu double-tap the "SANAV BTGPS_142.1:spp" Icon - The shortcut is now connected - Stilll in the "bluetooth - My shortcuts" menu, tap tools > Paired devices > ADD - Device : Browse to " SANAV BTGPS_142" - Passkey : 6666 (according to manual) I must have completed these steps x 100 the past few days, and every time i tried it replied 'Authentification failed' when submitting the passkey. Then, when i gave it one last shot they finally paired!!! Verry strange since i didn't do anything different then the 100 times before. I opened Alturion: no GPS found appears on the bottom of the screen. This is the configuration i found in GPS settings: Custom com port COM 8 Modify advanced settings on baud rate:57600 parity: none data bits: 8 stop bits: 1 i also tried the wizard for autodetection:always crashes on the second block (+-2min) is there anyone who has had the same problems or who knows anything about this that could help me out? Thanks in advance! |
