MSN Messenger help?

my GF has MSN messenger updated to the latest version then one day it reverted back to the old version and she no longer can upgrade back to the newer version, what could be wrong and what can be done to upgrade it again? thanks

Any chance they're separate installs? and your desktop shortcut or startup file has the old one referenced? Also suggest taking a look in the add/remove programs, ot it's XP equivalent, and see if two incidences exist. You could also uninstall all incidences of the messenger, and try http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...load-6711.html Gaim is multi-platform, so you can have all your messengers in one window. It may lack some bells-n-whistles, but it works!

Trillian is also another awesome multi-messenger program that you can use. It comes in basic and pro flavors and the latest version offers a slew of options AND the ability to use it to communicate over networks such as a home LAN or even corporate WANs.
