Dual Monitor Help

I am currently trying to run dual monitors off of my nvidia 5500 graphics card. I have the correct adapter and the second monitor is enabled but all the second monitor will do is scroll the extended desktop from left to right. All I can see is a spinning image. Any ideas or suggestions?

Have you tried updated video card drivers?

Yes, it gives me a message saying that they don't exist.
