eATX???/
I have an ASUS A8V-E motherboard, with a 24-pin power connector.
I have heard that i can still use a 20-pin connector and it will run, is this true? |

Depends on where you "heard" it from. If Asus says you can - then you probably can. But from experiences collected here on TSF over the course of the past months i must say people have problems with this setup from time to time - even though its supposed to work. Often the only way is to get at least a 20-24 pin converter if the PSU is powerful enough - or get a new PSU that supports the new standard.

Well, im asking because when I bought my case (came with PSU) they gave me a 300W instead of a 400W, so I have to go exchange it today. I was just wondering if I should ask for a PSU with the 24-pin plug, or just an adapter. I think they might make me pay for a 24-pin since the one i have is only 20.

I dont know your systems specs but its not a good idea to skimp on the power supply. If you can get a quality 24 pin PSU with at least 20 Amps on the +12V rail. Wattage alone doesnt say much about the actual quality and stability of a PSU - most generic brands dont deliever where its really needed - and thats the 12V rail.
