Headset microphone problem
Hi.
I have a Plantronics .Audio 90 Headset http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat640035/cat1430032/prod440020 It was a christmas present, so maybe it's a bit late to ask this i think :P But since the first time i used it, my microphone wouldn't work. The rest of the headset worked fine, and it's a really good one but the microphone couldn't record sound or anything. My previous headset, Logitech Premium Stereo USB Headset 30 http://www.logitech.dk/index.cfm/products/details/DK/EN,CRID=103,CONTENTID=6337, worked fine. Do I need to install some drivers? Or could it be because my Plantronics headset is broken? Please answer my questions and help me (or stuff), because i don't want to buy a new headset (the Plantronics headset is very good :P). |

No there really arent any drivers to install. Either the microphone is broken or there is a lose, broken connection in the microphone cable or the head.

Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Multimedia, select the Audio tab and select Volume. Make sure the microphone is selected and turned up. (Win2k!)
Also before you condem the unit, try it on a different PC as well. You just may need to tweak the settings a bit. JamesO |

Sounds like you may be getting feedback.
This is a problem with some sound cards and recording. They loop the microphone audio out to the speakers like a public address system. Try moving the microphone away from the speakers and/or turn the speakers down or off when recording. JamesO |
