I recently bought a USBtech IrDA adaptor, but nothing I do will make it work. I installed as per instructions, and it showed up in Device Manager, but not in the Sys-tray. Dev.Mgr. properties show it as working properly - but it isn't!
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, manually copying the drivers to the folder, add new hardware.....zilch! The unit isn't faulty, because it works on my mate's laptop. I have checked out the USB ports, and there doesn't seem to be any hardware or software conflicts. The system is clean and working well within acceptable limits. I followed net leads re: enabling IR in the BIOS, but can't find anywhere to do this in CMOS or BIOS. BIOS is American Megatrends - don't know which one. I am really stumped....and peed off. Please help....
