Magnets near PC?
Hello,
So I'm starting to wear some powerful magnet-rings thing as an experiment... (www.alexchiu.com) Can I wear them while working without damaging the mouse and keyboard? Also, my monitor and computer are less than a foot away..will they be damaged? Thanks! |

I would not be too worried about the keyboard or mouse or PC case itself. The monitor could be an issue if it is a CRT, but deguassing should sort any issues if the magnet causes blotches on the screen.
Now I would be very worried with wearing these rings around any magnetic based storage media such as; cassette tapes, floppy disks, zip disks, DAT tapes, etc. The magnetic energy could erase or corrupt part of any magnetic storage media. JamesO |
