Building a PC

A friend of my asked me what I thought of his choices for hardware for the computer he is going to build. I have built my own computer with the help of another friend but I'm a little leary on giving somone else advice on there stuff.

He will be using his computer for multiple things like many of us. His primary thing is doing web designing. He also does some video and the more experience he gets he'll probably get into creating flash stuff and who knows maybe even a little animation. He also plays some video games.

So these are the parts he asked me about...
This is the mobo he plans on getting. I like ASUS so I think this is a pretty good choice.
Here is the processor he plans on getting. He knows AMD will save him money but he wants the Intel. Again I likr the choice.
This is what he wants for RAM .
And lastly this is the video card he plans on buying. ATI nice choice. But than again I'm just a rookie so let me know what you think.

A couple of other issues...
This is what he already has for a PSU and case . I told him that if he was buying a power supply for this system he was building I wouldn't go anything less than 420W, but I said his 350W might work but it'll be getting worked pretty hard. Than he realizes that the stock heatsink is a pile of junk so I told him to get the same one that I've got which is the TT Tower 112 That was the only advice I could give him with all certainty. That heatsink is ausome. I also tolds him to get a tornado fan for the heatsink. Which I warned him that it was aloud fan so also get a fan controller.

He's already got the HD, dvd burner, dvd player, and all that sort of stuff.

That's it. Give me some feedback if you wish.

My System

right away i like the choice of processor... Intel is mainly better for apps and publishing as your friend intends to do.. it can be good for games as well but the pc's purpose is not built for just games. Amd is built for such a thing... if you want to shell out a bit more... you could get a amd 64 which will still run 32bit programs only faster and plus you will be ready for the 64 bit technology to come out like in the tomorrow years...

and the hyper threading acts as if it were two seperate individual processors and at 3.6GHz.... whooosh!!!!

like the mobo 4 dimms, upto 4 gigs PCI-e

do you know if it supports dual channel memory?

may i suggest a different vid card?
nVidia 6600 GT just a few $ more...

nice choice for case. people seem to like it based on the quietness

heat pipe technology is really making an advancement however can i intrest you in something else? for less?
Zalman CPU Cooler everything else lookin real good.
