How to extract data from a dead usb thumbdrive?
Calling all forummers for help. I bought a new 256MB usb thumbdrive recently. On first usage, it worked fine & I saved some files in it. However, on the 2nd time I plug in in my PC's usb port, WinXp did not recognise it as a removable storage drive but as an unrecognised usb device that has malfunctioned & no drive letter appeared in Explorer. Followed winxp device manager troubleshooting but with no success. My other thumbdrives worked fine with all my PC usb ports. I plug the new thumbdrive into a few PCs at my office (winxp os) but it was not recognised at all & no flicker of light on the thumbdrive-totally dead!
Are there any software or hardware diagnostics that can extract data from a dead thumdrive? |
