TV tuner card necessary
Okay. After some deliberation and much great advice from you fine folk, I have finally bought a great gaming PC to replace my Fios TV service. You know, live tv on the internet. The thing is...not too many live high definition tv offerings. Everything else is great: the sound and video comes through the HDMI output of the video card through my home receiver in 5.1 sorround, the wireless keyboard/mouse combo works great. I just have questions about the necessity of a TV tuner card. how do i connect it? I mean, do I put a coax splitter before or after the FIOS router? will the signal continue to use the HDMI output on the video card if the coax cable is connected to the tv tuner card? Thanks for any answers.

Re: TV tuner card necessary
TV tuner cards cannot tune channels from FIOS. You will need the FIOS converter box to tune the channels. In which case, it would be simpler to just keep the box connected directly to the TV.

Re: TV tuner card necessary
Thanks, Dogg, for your reply. If I put a splitter before the router and coax to the tv tuner card, will there be any additional channels into my computer? Again, would it even be worth the time and money? thanks
