unibody macbook pro + samsung LCD problem

hey all,

i'm having an issue with using my samsung 23" lcd monitor (model #ln t2353ha) as a 2nd monitor. it is a hd/1080p lcd, and I am using the macbook pro display port to dvi convertor that I got from apple, and using a dvi -> hdmi cable to hook it up to the samsung lcd.

the problem is that it doesn't work. :( The lcd seems to detect that some kind of signal is coming from the hdmi port, (the lcd has 2 hdmi inputs, and when i switch from one to the other, the lcd responds) but no picture.

i tried all the settings in the system prerferences, and even tested this laptop with the same setup on a different hdmi enabled lcd, and it works fine. anyone know whats going on here? i thought hdmi was a pretty standard signal. i read somewhere on the interwebs about updating the firmware on the lcd or something like that, but that solution looked like a pc only type deal.

any clues would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Re: unibody macbook pro + samsung LCD problem

Did you use all of the same cabling to test the other monitor?

And while there is a standard for HDMI, it has been been updated. There are two current versions in use, ver 1.1 and ver 2.
