devices stopped working
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a second hand desktop, and all was fine til yesterday. Now none of my usb ports work, along with lan and dvd drive. Have checked them all in device manager, and all show the message This device is not connected to the computer (code 45). Have also tried to reinstall the drivers with no joy. Any ideas as to what the flip is going on? |

Re: devices stopped working
There is a good possibility your power supply has partly failed. If devices connected don't get power, that message is expected.

Re: devices stopped working
You may well have had a power surge that 'kicked' your Bios to defaults.
Get and use at least a syrge protector and be careful of static when touching the comp (USB and other ports can get shocked really easy if you are charged and don't discharge to a case screw or something).
