Cry [SOLVED] Computer will not power on

Good Afternoon Folks

My apologies if this is not the correct forum to post this problem. I have a 2 year old Dell Dimension 8400 desktop PC running Windows XP. My problem is that I cannot get it to power on. When I press the power on button the unit is completely dead. I have tryed the power cable on another PC and it works fine. Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Computer will not power on

Assuming that you have checked that the psu is itself switched on then you could try a different psu if this is available. Do you get any indicator leds lighting up or is the pc completely dead.

Re: Computer will not power on

Also, check the Power On button on the front of the case.
I have seen them come "unglued".

Re: Computer will not power on

Many thanks for such a quick response. Regarding the psu no indicator leds light up when I press the power on button on front of the computer. Will check as suggested the power on button to ensured its connections have not become unglued.
