a very weird cd drive

ok im pretty sure this is quite unusual. Once in a while after i turn my computer on from hibernation, the cd drive will initialize without me clicking to run it or putting a cd in. now i turn my computer on from hibernation 2-3 times a day and never shut down unless i have updates to apply, so i highly doubt those are the causes, but you never know. Any ideas on why my cd drive runs randomly on recovering hibernation? it only does it like once a month or something.

Re: a very weird cd drive

It sounds like WExplorer is just checking the contents to refresh itself.
Mine does the same thing if it has been asleep for a long time.

Re: a very weird cd drive

Just a shot...did you do a fresh install of the OS on the new drive? Did you install all the Mobo drivers?
